Hardware Return Guidelines

Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) & Transit Damage

If any microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi), sensors, actuators, or robotic chassis components in your kit are found defective or damaged upon unpacking, you are entitled to a free replacement. You must report this within 14 days of receiving your hardware.

Excluded Situations (Student Negligence)

We cannot accept returns or offer replacements for components damaged due to experimental mishaps, including applying excessive voltage, short circuits due to incorrect wiring, physical drops, or unauthorized soldering modification.

Replacement Process

Contact Lab Support

Email our lab support team at info@mire.lk with your Student ID, Course Title, photos/videos of the hardware issue, and a brief description of the diagnostic checks performed.

Technical Diagnostic

Our mechatronics lab team will review the photos/videos to confirm if the issue is a factory component defect or if it requires a physical inspection at our robotics lab.

Component Dispatch

Upon confirmation of the defect, we will ship a replacement component or kit to your address at no additional shipping cost.

Warranty Void Conditions

  • Hardware showing visible burn marks on IC chips due to overvoltage.
  • Sensors/microcontrollers that have been submersed in liquids (unless explicitly waterproof).
  • Component issues reported more than 14 days after physical courier delivery.
